This Week's Star Students...

Our Spring 2016 Student Diplomats this semester are all Star Students this week!

Thank you to Ivy Prater, Luke Grossnicklaus, Deena Schleiger, Brittany Mrkvicka, Bailee Schow, Kelsey Gretch, Sergio Ceja, Morganne Fuller, Jimena Guerrero, Hannah Laflin, Alexis Page, Lainey Russell, Megan Ingalls, Courtney Hayden, Laura Cox, Dawson Johnson, Morgan Prochnow, McKenzie Cuba, Bailey Hoadley, Mitch Long, & Sam Sutherland for an incredible semester of campus tours!

Overall, the Student Diplomats have been a phenomenal group to work with this semester - they are all great leaders with some amazing Loper pride! These leaders have all grown so much this semester, and we are confident that they will all continue to go on and do some amazing things.

Alexis Page & Deena Schleiger: This Week's Star Students!

This week, the UNK Admissions Office has TWO Star Students of the Week! Meet Alexis Page and Deena Schleiger!

Alexis is one of our returning Student Diplomats this semester, and has been a phenomenal mentor to the newbies. She has excellent time management skills - especially when it comes to dropping off students for their academic appointments. She is a hard worker, genuine, and is always more than willing to help out with extra tours. Thanks for all that you do, Alexis!

Deena Schleiger


Deena is another one of our returning Student Diplomats this semester, and another great mentor. She is outstanding conversation skills, and is always willing to talk to prospective students and families as soon as they arrive to the Admissions Office. Deena is a great worker, is very sincere, and always carries an upbeat and positive attitude with her! Thank you for always going above and beyond, Deena!

Brittany Mrkvicka & Morgan Prochnow: This Week's Star Students!

This week, the UNK Admissions Office has TWO Star Students of the Week! Meet Brittany Mrkvicka and Morgan Prochnow!

Brittany is a 1st time student diplomat, yet has a phenomenal sense of confidence. She does a great job of taking control of a situation. She has great conversation skills, is extremely welcoming to students and their families, and is an incredibly hard worker with an always upbeat, positive, and encouraging attitude! We're looking forward to seeing the potential that she has in this office!

  • Why did you choose UNK?: "I was actually having a difficult time deciding and my dad forced me to go on one more tour. That tour made me fall in love with UNK, and I'm still in touch with those tour guides."

Morgan Prochnow


Another 1st time student diplomat this semester, Morgan has really grown in these past few months; she has become increasingly more confident and is fantastic with our younger groups on campus! She is always looking for a good conversation, is very talented at forming connections with any student and their family, and is incredibly genuine and sincere. We appreciate how much Morgan has stepped up to volunteer a number of her Saturdays for special visits! Thanks for all that you do in our office, Morgan!

Jimena Guerrero: This Week's Star Student!

This week, the UNK Admissions Office Star Student of the Week is Jimena Guerrero! Jimena is one of our outstanding "returners" this semester; she is always helping, supporting, and encouraging the new student diplomat on her team. She has exceptional conversation skills, is a hard worker, very genuine, and she is sincere with every interaction that she has! Jimena played a large role in helping to coordinate tours for the Nebraska Cultural Unity Conference at UNK, demonstrating her amazing organizational skills and creativity-- Extra kudos for accomplishing this task!

Courtney Hayden: This Week's Star Student!

This week, the UNK Admissions Office Star Student of the Week is Courtney Hayden! We are so excited to have Courtney as one of our new student diplomats this semester-- she is a strong leader and is always able to provide valuable feedback to her group members! Courtney's positive attitude and incredible enthusiasm for UNK is contagious! She is a great worker, confident individual, and is always willing to take on whatever task is ahead of her. Ivy Prater: This Week's Star Student!

This week, the UNK Admissions Office Star Student of the Week is Ivy Prater! Ivy is one of our returning student diplomats this semester and has done a wonderful job of stepping up to help train our new diplomats. She is extremely organized and does a fantastic job of ensuring that those around her are organized as well. Ivy is very inquisitive-- always looking for ways to make the campus visit experience even better! She is always positive and will greet everyone with a smile. Thanks for all that you do, Ivy!

McKenzie Cuba: This Week's Star Student!

This week, the UNK Admissions Office Star Student of the Week is McKenzie Cuba! McKenzie is one of our wonderful returning Student Diplomats (with one semester of campus visits under her belt)! She has volunteered to give weekend visits for some of our UNK Football recruits and has been a natural in taking the lead to help train some of our new Student Diplomats. McKenzie is also very creative and is always thinking of great ways to make the campus visit experience even better. Thank you for all that you do, McKenzie!
